Writing A Dynamite Cover Letter For Resume
While your
resume is very important in your job search, having an effective cover letter
is just as important as the resume. You want to present a cover letter that introduces not only you as a person but your resume
well.
The cover letter
is a great way to put additional information that you can’t include on your resume, and gives you a chance-- right up front -- to sell yourself. It's the opportunity to put your best foot forward before the employer is looks at your resume. A good cover letter can set you up for a dynamite interview, and if it's written right, can set the stage for salary negotiations when the employer is ready to hire.
When you are putting together a cover letter
for a resume, first introduce yourself as the best employee for the job, then back that up by pointing out your experience, your talents, and your abilities as they relate to the requirements mentioned in the job announcement. You should also bring out anything specific that makes you stand out above the crowd.
Here are some points you will want to consider:

-
Tailor your cover letter
to the job. Tell your future employer why you are perfect for this particular position.
- Highlight anything you want your prospective employer to pay attention to.
- Mention specific things about the job that is being offered that you have experience in.
- Include anything else that is pertinent to the company and the job at hand -- but be brief, your cover letter
should not exceed two paragraphs, at the most.
Be brief and make your cover letter
look professional and appealing-- print it on the same muted color stock paper as the resume.
If your cover letter
is compelling and crafted carefully, you can sit back and wait for that interview call!
